THE FILM
The first film adaptation of Gaston Leroux’s novel Le Fantôme de l’Opéra, is the story of a mad, disfigured composer who lives under the Paris Opera House.
Drawn to the beauty in her voice, the Opera Ghost becomes obsessed with an aspiring young opera singer and convinces her that he is her “Angel of Music”, able to transform her into the brilliant opera star she longs to be. However, The Ingenue is torn between dedication to her music and her childhood love, The Captain. When she finally denies the Opera Ghost her devotion, there are terrifying and murderous consequences.
